A challenging and complex component packaging task, incorporating more than
3000 electrical interconnections and 600 optical fibers, with stringent shock, vibration
and sealing requirements -- a demanding example of the many component packages ATM
has designed. This assignment also involved optical design and packaging of the MEMS
switching device.
